The Bethel Public Library subscribes to several research resources for your use. Access is free but you will need to have a current Bethel Public Library card to access databases from outside the library.

Britannica Online Library Edition
This database contains comprehensive content for all patrons­from elementary students to college students, from business professionals to seniors. Extensive, reliable and thorough coverage of numerous subjects provided in encyclopedia articles, dictionary and thesaurus, as well as over 29,000 images and more than 1,700 animations, audio clips, and videos.
Global Reference Center
Database includes Korean, French, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese versions of Encyclopædia Britannica. The content includes encyclopedia articles as well as photos, graphic, animations, videos, and audio clips.
LearningExpressLibrary
Contains interactive online practice tests and tutorial courses designed to help students and adult learners succeed on the academic or licensing tests they must pass. It includes electronic books aimed at parents of children just starting school through adult. Tests range from those taken in elementary school through adult.
Note: You will need to select a user name and password to access Learning Express. From outside of the library your user name must be your Bethel Library Card barcode.
Merriam Webster's Unabridged
Webster's Third New International Dictionary (Unabridged) allows users to find words or phrases that appear within the different elements of a dictionary entry. One can also choose from several different types of searches to find word histories, see examples of how a word is used, or solve word puzzles.
Spanish Reference Center
This database offers resources in Spanish for all ages in two different interfaces, each with its own comprehensive encyclopedia for high school ages and up and Britannica Escolar Online for ages 6-12.

     An extensive site where visitors register, complete a profile, and then receive
     a list of all relevant funding sources. It offers extensive information on how to apply,
     where to apply, how to calculate costs, etc.

Peterson's Education Center
     Information from the "Peterson's Guides" is on the web, with information on how
     to write college application essays.

Princeton Review
     Counselor-O-Matic and Find-O-Rama, how to choose a school, campus life,
     admissions policies. Sections about graduate, law, business and medical schools also.

Sallie Mae
     Sallie Mae is the Student Loan Marketing Association, the major provider of loans
     to college students. It has an online course to walk visitors through the financial
     aid process. There are calculators to assist in computing college costs and loan
     applications to download.

Student Guide from the Dept. of Education
     Provided by the US Dept. of Education, this site will help determine eligibility for
     financial aid, government loans, and Pell grants.
