Treasures of Connecticut Libraries is a collection of items from libraries across Connecticut that has been digitized. The collection includes historical photographs, maps, postcards and more. Documents from the Bethel Library's collection include the Town of Bethel’s Sesquicentennial Commemorative booklet. Up to 100 items from the Library's collection will be posted over time and will include excerpts from the Historic Architectural Survey of the Village of Bethel produced in 1986 by the Bethel Historical Society and CT Historical Commission; Maria Parloa’s book Camp Cookery, plus excerpts from her longer books; photographs and articles on Parloa and the Seelye family; and the library history book written by the director. Other items to be submitted include centennial documents, postcards, photographs and other materials from the local history collection. To access the Bethel Collection: Once on the homepage, select the drop down menu from "participating towns", then choose Bethel.

Connecticut History Online

Connecticut History Online (CHO) is a digital collection of over 15,000 digital primary sources, together with associated interpretive and educational material. Now in its tenth year, CHO is embarking on a collaboration with the Encyclopedia of Connecticut History Online (ECHO) to serve the needs of scholars, K-12 and post-secondary teachers and students, genealogists, and the general public. This new initiative builds upon a very successful collaboration of libraries and museums focusing on digital capture of historical artifacts, including photographs, maps, broadsides, oral histories, manuscripts and oral histories.

The four current CHO partners, the Connecticut Historical Society, Connecticut State Library, Mystic Seaport, and the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center represent three major communities – libraries, museums, and historical societies – who preserve and make accessible historical collections within the state of Connecticut. Their combined assets include book and periodical volumes, manuscript materials, photographs and graphics, oral histories, maps, artifacts, and broadsides.
